Lagomor.ph publishes essays, notes, and other original work created by Alex Spezowka of Lagomorph Labs LLC. This page explains how you may use that material, including older posts that remain available under a Creative Commons license, newer writing that requires permission, and supporting assets such as images or audio.

Works Covered

Unless another license notice appears directly on a page, these terms apply to:

  • All textual content, including titles, metadata, captions, and translations hosted on this site or in the Lagomor.ph RSS feeds
  • Original images, diagrams, and audio published here
  • The downloadable archive files that mirror site contents

Third-party material is always credited and remains subject to its own license. When in doubt, please reach out before reuse.

Legacy Content (Through 21 December 2023)

All text written and published on or before 21 December 2023 is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. That license allows you to:

  • Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes
  • Remix, transform, and build upon the material, provided you license your contributions under the same terms
  • Provide clear attribution that includes the author name, the original page URL, and a notice of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license

Any use beyond that Creative Commons scope—such as commercial publication—requires written permission as described below.

Current Content (22 December 2023 onward)

All content published after 21 December 2023 is protected by Canadian copyright law. No rights are granted beyond the following limited permissions:

Personal and Reference Use

  • Share public links to the original post on any platform
  • Quote up to 100 words for commentary, reviews, syllabi, or similar reference purposes, provided the quote is properly attributed and linked back to the source page
  • Store a personal copy for offline reading without redistribution

Non-Commercial Reuse License

  • Reproducing the full text or images in non-commercial media (print or digital) requires purchasing a non-exclusive license for $2 CAD per piece
  • Payment covers a single publication, newsletter issue, zine run, classroom handout, or comparable distribution
  • Attribution must follow the requirements in the section below, and no additional paywalls or ads may be applied beyond the license holder’s normal operating costs

Commercial Licensing

Any commercial redistribution, anthology, translation for sale, or sponsorship-backed reuse requires a custom agreement. Please provide details on the intended medium, reach, and schedule, and expect rates beyond the non-commercial license fee.

Attribution Requirements

Whenever reuse is permitted, credit must include:

  • “Alex Spezowka” (or as otherwise credited on the source page)
  • The original article title linked to its canonical Lagomor.ph URL
  • A statement of the applicable license (e.g., “Licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0” or “Used with permission from Lagomor.ph”)

Attribution should appear near the reproduced material or in your credits section. Audio reproductions must include a spoken or written credit with the same information.

Additional Restrictions

These uses are expressly prohibited without prior written consent:

  • Republishing entire articles or image galleries on publicly accessible websites or platforms
  • Selling derivative products (books, courses, paid newsletters, merch) that substantially incorporate Lagomor.ph content
  • Training machine-learning or AI models using the site’s text, images, or metadata
  • Presenting the content as if authored, endorsed, or sponsored by anyone other than the original author
  • Bypassing paywalls, DRM, or technical protections deployed on this site

Requesting Permission

To license work or clarify a specific use, please contact me with:

  • The URL(s) of the material you wish to use
  • A short description of how and where it will appear
  • Whether the use is non-commercial or commercial, and any relevant timelines

I aim to respond within 7 business days. Allow extra lead time for print runs, event materials, or translations.

Questions

If you are unsure whether your planned use fits within these terms, reach out before proceeding. I’m happy to discuss reasonable accommodations and make sure the work travels responsibly.
