# About Published: February 25, 2021 Alex {{< justify >}} I'm Alex, a technologist, previously based in Canada, but now operating internationally. My goal in life is to build things that operate, and last, on the timeline of eons. By day I work as a Technical Sales Lead at [Jenni AI](https://jenni.ai). Half forward deployed engineer, half glad-hander, my day to day is mostly solving problems for academics and Universities. Before that I built [learning management systems](/2026/01/a-professor-in-every-pocket/), [logic proof tools](/projects/axiom/), and various infrastructure projects that, at their best, still serve millions of students a year, and at their worst, are probably blinking away in a closet somewhere. I keep two calendars. The Gregorian one gets me to meetings on time; the [French Republican one](/projects/repubcalendar/) reminds me that no system should be taken for granted. I have eclectic spiritual practices, hold a WSET Level 2 in wine, a CADD certification, and think a lot about [alchemy](/info/values/) as a framework for transformation - personal, technical, philosophical.
